Cuba's Habanos Festival, the world's largest cigar festival, began today in Havana, and the Cubans announced a trio of new cigars that will be added to the Cuban cigar portfolio and sampled at the show.
There's going to be a new Cohiba, complete with a new band and an aluminum tube, called the Cohiba Pirámides Extra, the first pyramid in the Cohiba line that's not an Edición Limitada or Regional Edition.
The band is very luxurious, with great detail in gold and what appears to be a hologram. It seems to incorporate several elements of the very ornate (and hard to counterfeit) band found on the immensely successful Cohiba Behike BHK line of cigars.
Cuba's Romeo y Julieta brand will get a new Petit Churchill, a shorter version of the iconic Romeo Churchill, and this year will mark the first time a Romeo has been produced in Cuba's Reserva program, with the Romeo y Julieta Churchill Reserva 2008. (see Cuba channel for image)
The cigars will be sampled this week during the Festival, which concludes on Saturday.
