The "Serie du Connaisseur N1" is one of the most elegant expressions of the Habanos. This cigar deserves to be smoked when & where one can dedicate the time to really enjoy it as a companion to one's thoughts. Afterwards, any remaining musings that cigars are not a exquisite lifestyle choice will be vanished.
Marque - Partagas
Frontmark - Serie du Connaisseur No.1
Vitola - Delicados 192 mm (7.5") x 39 ring gauge.
Tasting Notes: Wonderful construction with a dullish, light brown wrapper. Wrapper has a earthy/mushroom scent. Evenly filled bunch, not too firm, but not squishy. Well made cap which slices off cleanly, providing a pre-light draw that is just moderately resistant and evokes memories of cherry pie. Immediately upon lighting, a mouth filling creamy rich smoke with medium body kicks in, and an intoxicating aroma fills the room. Sweet citrus, leather and toast flavors dominate the first 1/3. The body becomes fuller and the famous old style Partagas spice kicks it up a notch towards the middle of the stick. In the last 1/3, some honey sweetness replaces the citrus, the spice gets just a bit of pepper added in for good measure, and touch of saltiness joins the chorus! The finish is long with a return to the earthy base. The cigar behaved wonderfully, never needing another touch of the lighter, holding it's speckled gray ash well and maintaining a perfect draw for well over 75 minutes.
IMHO, this cigar is the classic Partagas cigars flavor profile, which is the stuff Habanos legends are made of! Sip it slowly, savor the aromas and be thankful you were fortunate enough to sample this wonderful cigar!
